How does modular office furniture aid and enable a Coworking’s Purpose?

At the heart of any coworking service provider is a commitment to  nurture a vibrant  community of      individuals and businesses. While coworking spaces offer physical amenities such as desks, meeting rooms, and Wi-Fi, it is the sense of community and collaboration that  truly  defines   the    coworking experience.   • Mobile cafeteria tables are designed with wheels or casters, allowing them to be easily moved and rearranged to create different layouts and configurations within the cafeteria space. This mobility enables coworking spaces to quickly transform the cafeteria to accommodate events of varying sizes and formats, whether it& a networking mixer, a workshop, or a panel discussion.

Our Scope of Work with The Berry Coworks

For the Team at TBC not just look and feel but functionality of every piece of furniture was a key      discussion  in furniture design planning as the idea was to create a flexible workspace that can address the diverse needs of businesses. A lot of thought went into visualizing specific furniture for different areas at the same time there was a question of whether we could make the furniture multipurpose too?

We took the opportunity to manufacture and install modular workstations, ergonomic revolving chairs, breakout area and collaborative furniture for this coworking centre.

Planning the Space

The real estate where TBC Connaught place centre is housed is among one of the most sought-after business districts in New Delhi. The founders at TBC wanted to enable startups and businesses to make use of this strategically located office premise.

The centre is spread across 2 levels with a seating capacity of 150 people and the target clientele comprises of the early year as well as seeded startups and established Indian and multinational entities. The configurations of the workspace included the distribution of work areas, collaborative zones, meeting rooms and communal spaces. Fusion Furnish evaluated the furniture requirements for each area based on the intended use and spatial constraints.

Our vision is to create a platform for working professionals across the Globe, inspire them and connect them through our community. Our goal is to cater varied requirements of our community members with our standard and customised workspace. – Founding Team

Furniture Key Considerations

Let’s explore the various furniture considering factors such as ergonomics, durability, functionality, style, cost considerations and sustainability to meet the diverse needs of users at TBC.

  • Ergonomics: The Incorporation of design principles of ergonomics in the supplied furniture was to ensure that the user’s well being being the top priority. Factors considered in the supplied chair were the seat size, mold design and comfort, scope of adjustments in the armrest, tilt position stability, height threshold and lower lumbar adaptability.
  • Durability: Use of good quality materials such as glass-filled nylon chair pedestal and benchmark product testing ensured the product was made to withstand impact due to bumps. The recycled wood of work desks was treated with layers of coating to ensure the surface was scratch resistant. Drawer slides and shutter hinges of good quality ensured better life cycles of usage.
  • Functionality: The functional requirements of the coworking space and the specific tasks performed by its members were evaluated. The selection of furniture that offers versatility, adaptability, and modularity to accommodate different work styles, preferences, and activities was addressed.
  • Style: We considered the overall design aesthetic and branding of the coworking space, including its color scheme, visual elements, and architectural features. The furniture designs and finishes that complemented the space& visual identity to create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere were implemented.
  •  Cost considerations: An optimal value for the coworking space furniture was driven by evaluating budget constraints and product value engineering.
  • Sustainability: The rubberwood worktops were used for the modular workstations. Rubberwood, also known as parawood or Hevea brasiliensis, is considered a sustainable option for woodworking and furniture manufacturing for several reasons. One of the reasons is that Rubberwood is primarily harvested from mature rubber trees that have ceased latex production. Utilizing this by- product of the rubber industry helps reduce waste and promotes efficient use of resources.
 
 
 

Furniture Solutions Deployed

  • Modular Workstations: ACT W open desk work desk with rubberwood top surface created a warm, uncluttered work environment to promote the free flow of collaboration to exchange ideas and information. The polished rubberwood tops have a smooth feel with built-in wire management space for easy wire pull for laptops and phones.
  •  Pedestal Storage: Asiento P storage drawers kept under the work desks in carbon black color and handleless grooves made the aesthetics stand out.
  •  Cafeteria Table: The café being the centre point had a chill vibe with olive and black contrasting colour palettes used for the eating tables.
  • Revolving Chair: A Dune medium back ergonomic chair with multiple adjustments was placed for users. The chair is agile and makes an ideal reason for different body types to use it without worry. Collaborative Furniture: Custom collaborative poufs, lounge chairs, coffee tables and sofas were made with finishes to enhance the workspace experience.
